BC Wildlife Park, Kamloops

The BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops came to life in 1965 and continues to evolve as a Wildlife Park that showcases the wildlife of BC, as well as being a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. With 209 animals in our collection, including the only Kermode Bear in human care in the world, the BC Wildlife Park is quickly becoming a world class destination through our international partnerships. Through our motto “Conservation through Education” we are a recognized leader in conservation and tourism and are an accredited Wildlife Park of CAZA (Canada’s Accredited Zoos & Aquariums). The BC Wildlife Park’s animals have found their way to us because they were either orphaned, born in another CAZA accredited facility or were brought to our Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre with injuries that prevent them from being released back into the wild. We are home to the largest and most successful Burrowing Owl Captive Breeding Program in N. America. The Park is an environmental leader with our Discovery Centre, which has many conservation components including a geothermal heating and cooling system that also supports spawning trout and salmon in Campbell Creek. Our VIP Wildlife Experience allows visitors to work alongside our animal keepers and is a great educational tool. With our splash park, playground, Kids Camps, birthday parties, tours, etc. we have all the elements to create an experience that will keep you coming back!
