SACP members joined this society so they could make a direct contribution to the safety and security of both people and property in the Salmon Arm area. Our collective aim is to do all we can to ensure that citizens and visitors alike can enjoy living and working in this wonderful city.
We accomplish this goal by acting as extra sets of eyes and ears for the local RCMP Detachment, carrying out several ICBC programs, and providing safety and security-related support at various community events.
SACP members usually volunteer once a month to patrol designated areas of Salmon Arm and Canoe during scheduled late evening/early morning hours and/or by manning “Speed Watch” radar-triggered information boards on busy city streets and the Trans Canada Highway once or twice a month. SACP members also contribute to our community in other ways: information booths at malls, traffic and crowd control during community events, and assistance to local emergency response teams during civil emergencies.
